Renewable energy deployment has accelerated across Africa—proposed to increase fivefold—coupled with a threefold global expansion, presents both transformative opportunities and significant challenges for electricity transmission infrastructure throughout the continent. Africa stands at a critical juncture in its energy development. With a rapidly growing population and increasing industrialisation, the continent faces unprecedented energy demands. Simultaneously, global climate commitments and the falling costs of renewable technologies present a unique opportunity for Africa to build climate positive sustainable energy systems and a clean energy future.

The primary goal of this seminar is to foster knowledge exchange and strategic dialogue on integrating renewable energy systems into African grids, with a specific focus on East, West, and Southern Africa.
